Words from the Williams: Christmas with Mama and Papa Applebee

As always, we had a great time staying with my mom and Mike. Grace absolutely adores the two of them!

The big treat was Grace got to sleep in a big girl bed for the first time. She has outgrown the pack and play so we got a rail for the futon and Mama went out and bought a whole new little girl bedding set for the bed. She also surprised Grace with a life-size Elmo to have in her bed. For the most part, Grace did great. She did have some crying fits in the middle of the night but we attribute that to the fact that her two year molars are trying to make their way through her back gums. The nice part is I was able to go in and lay down with her. The tough part was reading her stories and singing her songs at bed time. I kept nodding off in the middle and she had to wake me up so I could finish :-)

We waited until Mark got into town to have our "Christmas morning" with mom and Mike. Grace definitely found out that it was worth the wait!

Another highlight of the trip was a trip to Huckleberry Railroad/Crossroads Village. Grace has been fascinated by trains lately. Nana and Papa Williams got her a train set for Christmas and Mama and Papa Applebee got a train to go around their Christmas tree with which Grace was completely enamored. So, of course, a trip to Huckleberry Railroad was a must. The village is from the 1800s and is decorated with lights for the holidays. There is also the oldest working steam engine which we were able to take a ride on and see the Christmas displays.

We headed to dinner before going to the Railroad and Grace showed off her "Cheese!"
