Hair

As some of you might have noticed, in most of her pictures Grace looks bald. Here is proof that she does have hair--and it's getting quite long. It's just very thin and light. My guess is she'll be like her daddy--blonde as a child and it will continually get dark as she grows up.

Play Ball!

Grace went to her first baseball game this past Sunday. Grandpa Williams' firm had their family day at the Indianapolis Indians game. They had a suite and Grace had a great time meeting all the people Grandma and Grandpa work with, playing on her blanket, hanging out with Aunt Amy, and watching a little baseball.

A new position

This past Sunday Mark was ordained as an Elder at church. I am very excited for him and think he'll do great in this new leadership position. It's been fun to hear about his experiences as he's gone through training and I think he'll really enjoy being involved and has a lot of talents and a great perspective to bring to the church. It was a very special service at church as the new Elders, Deacons, and Trustees were installed.

Backyard Pool

Grandma Williams came to babysit this Saturday while Mark and I went to a birthday party. Grace had a great time. Grandma got her a blow up pool for the backyard. As you can tell she loved it! While Grandma was babysitting Grace decided to finally roll from her back to her belly. We were so bummed that we missed it! (If you recall, her first belly to back roll was with Grandma Applebee.) Since then Grace hasn't quit rolling back and forth and back again.

Life at the Williams

Here's a little snapshot of life at the Williams this last week.

On Father's Day Grace decided to try out her walker. She hasn't figured out how to go forward but does a bit of a moonwalk. She loves the bears!

More swing time!

Grace and Daddy hard at work

Grace tried blueberries last Monday (June 22)--she especially likes them with her apples. Unfortunately this week she has decided that she doesn't really like to eat from a spoon. She simply purses her lips closed when we put her in her highchair or she'll suck her thumb. However she will eat her puffs with her fingers. So tonight I tried cutting up very very small pieces of a ripe peach. She loved it...hence our guess that it's the spoon she's decided she doesn't like. Guess she thinks it's time to move on to finger foods.

Happy Father's Day!

Dear Daddy,

I think you are the best ever! Here are the top ten reasons you're the best daddy:

10. You always sit on the floor and play with me.
9. You rearrange your schedule all the time so you can watch me while mommy's at school.
8. You just hung up a swing on the tree outside for me and it is SOOOO much fun!
7. When I was really little and would get up in the middle of the night you always got up with mommy to help take care of me.
6. You do the best cheek and belly blows--they make me laugh!
5. You use the water sprayer when you give me a bath--someday I'll catch the water.
4. You have the best hugs.
3. I love it when you do "Grace...Daddy" and poke our noses.
2. You are patient with me when I'm crying and can't figure out how to tell you what I need.
1. You are my daddy!

I love you Daddy!

Love, Grace

Taste of Tippecanoe

Last night we took Grace to the Taste of Tippecanoe (we live in Tippecanoe County). It's a great festival in downtown Lafayette. Many of the restaurants set up stands and you can get small tastes of their fare. There are also several stages set up with bands. All proceeds go to the Lafayette Arts Association. We met some friends down there and enjoyed our family night out.

Lady Grace being not so lady like

Grace's friend Noah Dohrman-Weiler was at the festival too!

One of the many reasons I love my family...

Swing!

Today we bought Grace a swing to hang from our big tree in our back yard. Here is how we spent our afternoon after Grace got home from school.

Trying out the swing in Grace's room as we try to figure out how we'll hang it from the tree.

Waiting for the swing to be hung.

Finally! The swing is up and it's time to try it out!

Puffs

Grace tried Gerber Puffs today. They are like Cheerios but they dissolve quicker. As you'll see in the video, she's able to pick them up but dropping them into her mouth is still a bit tricky. Check out what she does to improvise. At the end of the video, Mark walked into the room. You can tell how much Grace loves her Daddy by her reaction!

Sippy Cup

It appears as if Grace has picked up a virus. The nurse at the doctor's office said that cool liquids would feel good in her mouth and throat as the virus runs its course. So, I brought out the sippy cup again and decided we'd try it with cold water instead of milk. She seems to love it. I don't think she gets much but I think she got more with the full cup of water than when I would just put a little milk in there. She looks pretty cute for being a sick baby, doesn't she?

Happy 7 months Grace!!!

Believe it or not our baby is SEVEN months old today! I know all parents say this--but the time has just flown! We did our celebratory "Happy Birthdday" song with a candle tonight. Grace is a little more interested in our little tradition now and kept trying to grab the candle--yikes!

A wonderful weekend

With Grace in day care our weekends are even more special now. This weekend was perfect. We had such a great time together.

Friday night we had some friends come over for a game night. They got here before Grace's bedtime so they could hang out with her for a bit. She loved all the attention. We had a fun time and thanks to Abigail and Andy we even had a pinata!

Grace staring at her audience...

Grace's audience--I missed them all opening their mouths to get Grace to open her mouth--it was too funny!

Pinata!!!

Saturday we headed to Indy because Grace's GG was in town. It was another pool day. Grace was hilarious this time. She was ready for her nap so she kept putting her thumb in her mouth and trying to lay her head down...on the water! It was so cute!

Grace loved swimming with Grandpa!

Grace and her GG loved being in the pool together!

This morning we headed to church. Grace entertained everyone around us as she attempted to "sing" throughout the service.

Grace in her Sunday best.

We came home for Grace's afternoon nap and then we headed to Columbian Park. We had driven by the park several times but never walked around--it's huge. There's a water park, a zoo, and large pond with an island and tons of playgrounds. We took Grace to the zoo and then walked the perimeter of the park.

Playing in the water!

Grace and the penguin statue (this picture is for you Uncle Greg!)

Checking out the monkeys.

A perfect day for a stroll through the park!

When we got home, Grace tried green beans for the first time--she's in love!

It really was a perfect weekend!

Sicky Poo!

Last Sunday Grace came down with a cold. She did well fighting it off but Tuesday she was just too sick to go to daycare so she stayed home for a day with mom and dad. Despite being sick she still looked pretty happy, didn't she?
