One of the first Saturdays in October we decided to take a drive to check out the colors. Little did we know that as we drove up into the mountains the fog would get thicker and thicker. Because of the fog, we didn't get to see any leaves or really any great views as we drove from Boulder to Estes Park but we did have a nice lunch and dessert in Nederland which is a cute little mountain town and as we got to Estes we had quite the wildlife show.
Lunch at the deli...

And dessert in an old train car!
YUM!
As we entered Estes, several deer ran in front of our car.
And then we saw this big guy walking down the street!
And this guy walking along the side of an apartment complex (can you imagine looking out your window and seeing him?!)
We turned on the next street to see where the guy above was going and lo and behold we found the whole herd of elk on the golf course!
Then, as we drove through the canyon on the way home we spotted horned sheep.
And they decided to take a run along the road!
What a drive!
