Night Time Fun

Grace had her bath tonight and as you can see, I think it may be time to put her baby bathtub into the big bathtub...

Afterwards, Grace and I did some snuggle time. She was cranky and ready to go to bed before 8:00--I'm happy to report that for the last month she has been going to bed between 8 and 9 and sleeping until 7 or 8 the next morning! Such a good baby!

Cute Baby and Fun Friends

We think that Grace is getting cuter everyday (and that's tough because she started out really cute)! Don't you agree?

Grace has definitely found her left thumb. At first we thought it might be by accident that it ended up in there but it definitely is on purpose. She sucks her thumb whenever she is falling asleep or just relaxing--Mark's hoping it means she's a south paw.

Grace got to see some of her friends this past weekend...

Friday we headed to Indy for yet another eye appointment (I've been fighting a virus in my eyes since January but can't take meds because they could get passed on to Grace) and got to have lunch with Sarah Garrison. Grace just loves her!

Then, when she woke up on Saturday morning Grace finally got to meet the Ouradas! Katie and Ryan are some of our closest friends. Katie was at Purdue with me but she and Ryan moved back to Wisconsin last summer. We miss them so much and were so excited to have them here for the weekend and to introduce them to Grace!

She's got legs...and she knows how to use them!

Grace recently got an awesome gift from Mark's cousin Joy--leg warmers! They look so cute on her! The videos below show some of the fun things she does with her leg warmers on.

She loves to dance and chat with her mom while lying on the floor

She is learning how to sit up (I'm still working on the catching her as she falls part--oops!)

She likes to work out her legs by practicing her standing

Thanks Joy, Rick and Caleb!!!

Fun Times!

Grace has had lots of fun times the past few weeks!

This past weekend I had to go to Detroit for the grant that I'm working on so it was Grace and Daddy time. They headed to Chicago on Saturday for her cousin Caleb's first birthday. I have been told they had a great time and that Grace loved meeting more family members!

Someone looks tired after a long day!

The weekend before was also a fun weekend. We headed down to Mark's parents' house for the day on Saturday. It was a very relaxing day with the family!

Trying so hard to roll over!

The week of Spring Break (after we got home from Florida) Grace got to hang out with some of her friends.

Giggle baby

Grace has recently started to parrot some of the things we do. Especially when it comes to laughing and smiling!

She also has really started using her feet in the bouncer. It's so fun to watch her "dance" around!

But it's not just in the bouncer that she uses her feet--she also grabs them every time we put her on her changing table. It's like she's helping us change her diaper!

What a day!

Today was a busy day! I had a dentist appointment this morning at 8:40. Someone was playing Sleeping Beauty and still wasn't up at 8:10 even though she went to bed at 9:00 last night. I actually had to wake her up so I could feed her before my appointment. When I got home, this is how I found her. Evidently helping Daddy works gets boring!

We then had Grace's 4 month check up. She did great...you could tell the shots hurt her but she only cried for about a minute. She continues to "thrive," weighing in at 15 lbs, 11.3 ounces (90th percentile), measuring 24 1/2 inches, and having a head circumference of 42 cenimeters. The doctor said that we'll know when to introduce cereal when she starts waking up during the night hungry. Until then the doctor thinks she's doing just fine nursing--with her measurements, we'd have to agree!

When we got back from the doctors, Grace, Daisy and I took advantage of the warm day and took a walk around the neighborhood. Grace has started using her stroller without the infant seat for walks around the neighborhood--I think she likes being able to see forward. The fresh air definitely wore her out!

The final excitement for the day was a visit from our friends John and Rebecca and their adorable little boy Noah. We ordered pizza and drank some champagne to celebrate Rebecca being awarded a fellowship for next year when she's working on her dissertation--Congrats Rebecca!

Bouncy Seat

Last Monday, March 9th, we brought out Grace's bouncer. She has really enjoyed standing on our laps so we thought she was ready for the bouncy seat--boy were we right. She loves it--even though her feet are just a little short of the ground!
