Pancreatic Cancer Walk

The first weekend of May was a travel weekend for us. Unfortunately, we weren't all traveling together. My great friend, Jill Carpenter was getting married in Philadelphia. At the same time, in Chicago, the Williams' family was participating in the Pancreatic Cancer walk in memory of Grandma Williams. So Mark and Grace headed to Chicago and I did a whirlwind trip to Philly.

I had a great time at Jill's wedding. Jill and I had worked together for AXiD and one of the other women who worked with us, Melissa Schlehuser, was in the wedding. Melissa was able to pick me up at the airport and I got to get ready with the wedding party which was really special as it gave me a chance to spend some time with Jill and her fabulous family! The wedding was beautiful and Jill was a gorgeous bride. Unfortunately, I got a stomach virus Saturday night/Sunday morning and had to travel home with it (not fun!). But, I'm so glad I made the trip!

Mark and Grace headed to Chicago Friday night. They headed straight to Uncle Marcial and Aunt Barb's where the family had congregated. Grace jumped right in and started playing with everyone.

Baby Colby!

Grace LOVES this chair--whenever we are at the Palomo's--this is where you'll find her!

The closest thing we have to a picture of the three Williams' great grandchildren together :)

Headed to Tia Lynn's for the night--quite happy after all the playing!

Saturday was the big walk. It was a beautiful day. Joy had pins made for everyone to wear with Grandma's picture on it. It was a family activity and Grandma Williams would have been so proud to see her family come together to raise money for such an important cause!

Grace unsure if she'll be able to walk the whole way :)

The whole group

The Williams family (minus me and Greg)

Happy baby!

Grace has such a handsome Daddy!

The cousins

Someone slept through the walk! (Don't you love her pin?!?!)

After the walk, everyone went back to Lynn's condo for lunch and the Grace and Caleb got to go to the playground right by Lynn's.

Quite possibly the cutest picture EVER!

After playing at the park, Mark left Grace with Grandma and Grandpa Williams and headed back to West Lafayette for church obligations he had on Sunday. Grace stayed at Aunt Barb and Uncle Marcial's and had a great time continuing to play with Caleb...

They had a bath (it went much better than the meltdown they both had last summer in Minnesota when we tried to bathe them together!)

They ate some dinner

They played with their toys

They got Kristen to read to them

And they watched the adult cousins playing yard games from the front window

On Sunday, Grace joined her grandparents and great aunts and uncle for breakfast at a local Tinley Park, IL hotspot (in her pajamas!) and then went to Colby's baptism and the luncheon afterward. All reports say she was well-behaved at all the events!

It was Grandma's birthday--I think she liked getting to have Grace for the day on her birthday!

The man of the day, Colby, and his momma
