Thank you Kristi!

Since our second year in West Lafayette, Mark and I have belonged to a Monday night bowling league. Unfortunately, I have a class this semester on Monday nights so it's tough for Mark to get to the bowling alley. Tonight our 2nd place team was playing the 3rd place team so Mark really wanted to be there. Thankfully, my office mate and good friend, Kristi Wilkum agreed to babysit. This is the first time that a non-grandparent has babysat Grace so it was a big night for us. Grace loved having Kristi here and was sound asleep in her arms when we got home :) Thank you so much Kristi!

And just in case you wondering, our bowling team took 6 of 8 points!

Loving the jungle gym

Here's a video we shot tonight--no idea why I said it was Thursday, October 27th--let's blame it on exhaustion :-)

Dinner and leftovers

This past Sunday we had dinner in Indy at the Garrisons. Our dear friend, Jessica Eng, was in town for work so Sarah and Andy had us all over for an amazing meal. It was great to spend time with all of them!

Any great meal has lots of leftovers and there were tons on Sunday night. I also have tons of leftover pictures which I haven't got posted so here are a few of them. (I know--bad and cheesy transition!)

I look horrid in this picture (which is probably why I didn't post it in the first place!) but looking at it now I can't believe how little Grace looks! She was only about 3 weeks old in this pic.

Mark's cousins Lynn and Joy and Rick and Caleb came to visit the first weekend of December.

Caleb showed us what we have to look forward to when Grace starts to eat real food!

Mark's parents came up the second weekend in December and babysat so we could go see our friend Raven's dance concert. Grace had a great time with them!

SO cute!

Perhaps I'm biased but I think these photos from yesterday certainly demonstrate how cute Grace is!

I'm a big girl now!

Grace had her 2 month check up this past Monday, January 19th. She got her first round of immunizations. It was so sad...she looked so happy and then when she felt the needle prick her lips pursed together, she got really red, and she held that pose for about 3 seconds...and then she screamed! She was only upset for a few minutes though. She got a Bandaid on each leg and then was pretty good for the rest of the night. The only time she was disgruntled was when we would change her and her pants would hit her Bandaids. The doctor did confirm what we had known for some time--our little girl is becoming a big girl! She was 23 inches long, had a head circumference of 40 cm and weighed 12 lbs 9.8 oz. This put her in the 75-90th percentile for all of her measurements. She's also right where she needs to be developmentally. The doctor was pleased and said Grace was "thriving" :-) Here is some proof that she's a big girl now :)

Helping Mommy make dinner in the front pack (she also loves it when I dance and she's in the front pack!)

Grace's first time taking a bath without the hammock (January 16). She's not so sure about it at first...

But then she gets comfortable and it's old news!

My fun hat finally fits!

Grace is big enough to do dinner parties with Grandma! She just hasn't figured out how not to cry when dinner is served or how to stay awake for dessert!

No matter how big Grace gets she'll always love naps with Daddy!

Grace continues to love time on her tummy and is becoming more and more enthralled with her toys.

She's able to hold her head up for longer periods of time.

Taking after mommy with big eyes for pictures!

Such a smiley baby!

We moved Grace's swing from cradle position to seat position...she still enjoys it!

Thanks for visiting again Grandma!

Grandma Applebee came for a visit this week. It is always so fun to have any of the grandparents visit and Mark and I both appreciate all of the help Grandma gave us, from helping with house work to spending some quality time with Grace so we could get some things done. As much as we enjoyed having her here, I think Grace loved it even more! Grandma's favorite time is bath time and Grace certainly enjoyed having Grandma give her her bath and then brush her hair afterwards!

Can't wait to see you again Grandma!
