Snuggle

Swimming

We finished up our Tadfish Swim lessons the weekend two weeks after Laura was born.  It was so fun to see Grace progress.  She got the green light to move up to the next class.  Mark loved the time in the pool with her and I think he was a little sad that the next class she'll be on her own.

Love that hug!!!

1st bottle

Besides the parade, the Fourth of July festivities, we also had a milestone for Laura--her first bottle.  I had a check up with the lactation consultant and she suggested we try a bottle around 3 weeks to ensure that she would take to it.  I had been pumping for a few days and had a bottle that I would either have to freeze or give to her so we decided that we would give it a try.  She took it like a champ and Grace loved getting to help her eat.

Multi-tasking--feeding her sister, sucking her thumb, AND watching cartoons.

Happy 4th of July!!!

We had a great, low key Fourth of July.  We didn't have any plans and then as Mark was reading the morning paper he learned that there was a parade that went from Old Town Fort Collins to our City Park.  It was about 45 minutes before the parade was scheduled to start so we decided to go for it and somehow got both girls dressed, ourselves ready, and were out the door before the parade started.   After the parade (or the "harade" as Grace called it and continues to call it whenever we drive by where it was) we wandered Old Town and had lunch at the Crowne Pub.  Once we were seated we realized the irony of eating at a British Pub on July 4...oops! :-)

The firefighters at the end of the parade received a standing ovation.  What a summer they had! Thank you firefighters for saving our town!

Fort Collins has these painted pianos all over town.  It's the coolest thing because you'll randomly run across someone playing.  It's awesome how the citizens of the city really take care of the pianos, making sure they're covered when it rains and keeping them nice.  Grace treated us to a little recital in Old Town Square.

Growing too fast!

On July 2nd, Laura had her 2 week checkup (a few days late because our doctor had moved offices).  She weighed in at 8 lbs, 4 oz (well surpassing her birth weight of of 7 lbs, 13.5 oz) and had grown over 2 inches to measure 22 inches!  That's a lot of growing in two weeks and put her in the 50th percentile for weight and 90th for length!

Ladies' Man

What can I say? Mark is a ladies' man!

Nana and Papa

The day Mama and Papa left, Nana and Papa arrived to meet Laura.  Papa stayed for 5 days and we kept Nana for a few extra days.  We did lots of cuddling, got out a bit, and all in all had a fantastic time!

Nana and Papa brought a whole suitcase full of gifts!
