One more time...Michigan visit

Before the big move we also found time to head to Michigan, one more time...

Hanging out at Mama and Papa's

For some reason I had a strong urge to go and put flowers on my grandparents' graves. Mark had never been there and I had never introduced Grace to them. It was a really special afternoon for us and I could feel all three of them smiling down on us.

Great Grandma and Grandpa Farrell

And of course no trip to MI would be complete without some Pizza Sam's!

Thumbs up for keeping thumbs out of mouths!

Daisy was really sad since this probably was her last MI unless we make the drive from CO

Snuggle time with Papa Bob

One more time...weekend in Indy

We also had to do a weekend in Indy one more time and experience all the fun, friends, and family it entails.

There was a trip to the zoo with Nana and Papa because Mommy had never been there...

Watching the giraffes

Grace "racing a cheetah."

She's going to be a runner like her daddy

We also had a pool day with our friends, the Galls and Garrisons, and Mark's cousin, Lynn, and her boyfriend, Ryan...

"Don't move, Grace!" said Noah.

What a great, relaxing Memorial Day weekend it was!

One more time...dinner at the Linvill's

During our time in WL, we have shared many fun times with the Linvills. Jenn is one of my best friends and Grace just adores Porter. We had to make it out to their home for one more family dinner.
Their outdoor cat had just had kitties and Grace and Porter had so much fun petting them. If we weren't moving, I have a feeling we would have been bringing a kitty home with us :-)

Smiley Grey!

Grace LOVES Porter's train!

Patiently (?) waiting for dinner

One more time...sleepover at Nana and Papa's

Another "one more time" event on our list was to have a "last hurrah!" party at our house. Of course this equated to Grace having a sleepover at Nana and Papa's house which she absolutely adored! There was the obligatory dance party with Nana...

And then a trip to the zoo...

Feeding the giraffe!

One more time...Chuckee Cheese

Before we moved we had a lot of "We have to do that one more time!" type outings. One of those "one more time" stops was to Chuck E. Cheese's with our dear friends Andy and Abigail. We had gone with them before and had so much fun so we knew we needed to visit CEC one more time with before we moved. As always it did not disappoint and I'm already trying to tempt them into visiting us in CO with the fact that we have a CEC there!

Master of the tickets!

Abigail in deep concentration!

Goodbyes

Well, it's time to play catch up! Our boxes are all unpacked (except for the ones in the basement and garage but that's mostly baby stuff that doesn't need to be unpacked), my dissertation is done and was succesfully defended this past Wednesday (YAY!!!), and we finally feel settled. So, the next several posts will be me playing catch up :-)

Our last few weeks in the Midwest were so much fun. We really tried to make the most of it as we said goodbye to friends and family. One of our goodbyes was to Grace's teachers. Unfortunately, Grace's daycare in WL, Bethel Childcare, is shutting it's doors this month. News of this broke in May and a few weeks before we left Bethel, both of Grace's teachers found new jobs and several of Grace's classmates left for their new schools. Needless to say, it was a heartbreaking few weeks as we had lots of goodbyes. Grace continues to talk about her Bethel friends and teachers. I think it will be nice when she starts at her new school in a month and makes some new friends but we will never forget the special people we met at Bethel and we wish them all the best!
